April 12, 2014 --- Michael set out enter a trio of events over the weekend that began with a make-up event at Tri-County Race Track (Brasstown, North Carolina) on Thursday night with Ray Cook's Spring Nationals tour.
Thirty-two entries were on hand for the $4,000-to-win program, and Chilton fail just short of locking into the main event via his qualifying efforts, but a second place run in the heat race earned him the thirteenth starting spot for the finale. Despite starting mid-pack in the 40 lap feature, Michael motored his way toward the front to cross the finish line in fifth behind race winner Mike Marlar, Shane Clanton, Dale McDowell, and Casey Roberts. After Friday night's World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series event at Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) was plagued by Mother Nature shortly after qualifying began, the team traveled east to Volunteer Speedway (Bull Gap, Tennessee) on Saturday evening. Twenty Super Late Models registered for the $10,000-to-win program, and with the feature lineup being set directly from time trials Chilton locked in the fifth starting position for the main event. Michael battled the top five for much of the event, and despite several charges for the second and third positions, passing would be difficult at the high-banked oval and Chilton would settle to a fourth place finish behind race winner Jimmy Owens, Vic Hill, and Casey Roberts. April 5, 2014 --- Michael Chilton Motorsports set out to enter a pair of events on the Ray Cook promoted Spring Nationals tour over the weekend, but Mother Nature would once again play a factor as Friday night's program at Tri-County Race Track was postponed.
The team now traveled to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) for a $6,000-to-win event with the tour. A talented field of thirty-one Super Late Models were registered for battle, and struggles in qualifying left Chilton starting fourth in the second heat. Michael advanced to a second place finish in the heat to lock into the thirteenth starting position for the 50 lap feature. During the course of the feature, the Wild Child advanced to a tenth place finish at the checkered flag.

March 22, 2014 --- Michael Chilton traveled to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) on Saturday night for the 17th Annual Indiana Icebreaker, which posted a $10,000 check for the winner of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event.
A talented field for forty-five Super Late Models converged on the 1/4 mile oval. Chilton started fifth in his heat race via his qualifying efforts, and with the top four finishers moving on to the main event he missed the transfer by one spot with a fifth place finish, forcing him to run a b-main. In the b-main, Michael crossed the finish line in second to lock into the 20th starting spot for the 50 lap feature. In the feature, engine woes would once again plague the #97 team as Michael's night came to an early end at lap twenty, resulting in disappointing 27th place finish.

March 15, 2014 --- Michael Chilton Motorsports launched their version of the 2014 racing season over the weekend as they invaded Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) for a pair of events in Ray Cook's Spring Nationals. (B. Meyer Images)
On Friday night a $4,000-to-win event was held as a talented field of thirty-four Super Late Models registered for battle. With the top eight qualifiers locking into the feature Chilton secured the eighth starting spot on the grid via his qualifying efforts. With passing being difficult in the 40 lap main event, Michael recorded a solid ninth place finish at the checkered flag.
Saturday evening saw the winner's purse boosted to $10,000 as thirty-one entries converged on the 4/10 mile high-banked oval. Chilton failed to make the transfer into the main event via heat race action, but locked into the 19th starting spot with a second place finish in the b-main. In the 60 lap finale, Chilton had advanced to 14th when his night was brought to an early end following motor issues with just ten laps remaining.

November 16, 2013 --- Michael Chilton and his #96 team traveled to Duck River Raceway Park on November 15-16 for the 2nd Annual Deep Fried 75, their final event of the 2013 season. Michael timed in 17th in his respective group during Friday night's qualifying session and later went on to finish fourth in his heat race, earning him a 13th place starting spot for Saturday night's $10,000 to win main event.
When action got underway on Saturday, Chilton drove passed eight competitors during the 75-lapper on his way to a solid top five finish. October 19, 2013 --- Michael Chilton Motorsports ventured to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 18-19 for the 33rd Annual RED BUCK Dirt Track World Championship presented by Borrowed Blue. This crown jewel weekend kicked off on Friday night with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series time trials and qualifying heats. Michael posted a disappointing 27th place time in Group B during LOLMDS time trials and went on to finish eighth in his qualifying heat race.
Saturday's race action saw Chilton continue behind the 8-ball. After rolling off ninth in his B-Main and finishing 14th, the Salvisa, Kentucky native was unable to transfer into the 100-lap, $50,000 to win main event. October 12, 2013 --- Michael Chilton and the #97 team returned to their home track of PonderosaSpeedway for the 23rd Annual Fall Classic weekend on October 11-12. The weekend kicked off with the 9th Annual CT Promotions Ironman Classic on Friday night paying $2,000 to win. Michael timed in seventh quickest among the 35 entries on hand and later took the win in his heat race, earning him a starting inside the second row for the A-Main. Chilton would inherit the lead on lap 19 of the 35-lapper after race leader Mike Marlar retired his mount with overheating issues. The Salvisa, Kentucky ace pulled away in the remaining laps to score his second consecutive Ironman Classic victory. Greg Johnson came home in second followed by Dustin Linville, Stephen Breeding and Derek Fisher.
Saturday's 23rd Annual Fall Classic boosted a $5,000 top prize and a 50-lap A-Main event. Looking to capitalize on Friday night's performance, Michael posted the fifth quickest time overall in qualifying and went on to finish second in his heat race. After rolling off from inside the third row, Chilton ran as high as third in the A-Main event before having to retire his #97 Revelution Chassis with mechanical issues on lap 32, resulting in a disappointing 15th place finish. October 5, 2013 --- After morning rain forced the cancellation of Eldora Speedway's UMP Nationals on Saturday, Michael Chilton Motorsports trekked south to Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee. Michael timed in quickest in his respective group during Southern Regional Racing Series qualifying and later went on to finish third in the dash, earn him a starting spot inside row two for the A-Main. September 21, 2013 --- Michael Chilton Motorsports visited Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday night for the 34th running of the 'Jackson 100.' The crown jewel event drew an impressive 46 entries for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. After a poor qualifying lap, Michael narrowly missed the transfer in his heat race finishing fifth. The Salvisa, Kentucky driver made his way into the $15,000 to win event after finishing second in his B-Main, earning him a 19th place starting spot for the 100-lapper. Mechanical issues once again plagued the #97 team when Michael lost all brakes during the A-Main, resulting in a disappointing 15th place finish. Michael and the #97 team were scheduled to appear at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Friday night for the 'Ralph Latham Memorial.' Unfortunately, Mother Nature claimed that win and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event was not rescheduled.
September 13, 2013 --- Michael Chilton and the #97 team invaded Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky for Fan Appreciation Night on Friday evening, September 13. Michael Chilton Motorsports was scheduled to make an appearance at Lucky 7 Speedway in Colson, Kentucky on Saturday night for the Post World 40 event that paid a $4,000 top prize. September 7, 2013 --- Michael Chilton Motorsports made the trip to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio September 5-7 for the 43rd running of the 'World 100.' The expanded three-day weekend kicked off with a pair of Twin-25s, each paying $5,000 to win. On Thursday night, Michael finished third in his heat race before moving on to a respectable 13th place finish in the 25-lap preliminary A-Feature. Friday night at the "Big E" saw Chilton finish fifth in his heat race a later finishing fourth in the B-Main, narrowly missing the transfer into the $5,000 to win A-Feature event.
When action got underway on Saturday evening at the 1/2-mile speed plant, Michael’s night was cut short after a disappointing 15th place performance during his heat race. The Salvisa, Kentucky ace known as the "Wild Child" was unable to transfer into the 100-lap crown jewel event. August 23, 2013 --- Michael Chilton Motorsports returned to Pondoersa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky on August 23 for the 6th Annual 'Friday Night Rumble.' Michael posted the fourth quickest time among the 33 entries on hand during qualifying, but later finished seventh in his heat race, forcing him to run a B-Main. Chilton charged his way forward to win his B-Main, earning him an 18th place starting spot for the $7,500 to win A-Main event. The #97 team visited Lake Cumberland Speedway on August 16 for the 5th Annual 'Harold Hardgrove Memorial.' Michael laid down the overall quickest time among the 18 entries that were on hand however, disaster struck while leading his heat race when Chilton suffered from an engine failure that would end his night early. August 10, 2013 --- Michael Chilton Motorsports invaded Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on August 8-10 for the 31st running of the 'North/South 100.' On Friday night, Michael posted the tenth quickest lap in Group A during the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying session. When action got underway on Saturday night, Chilton narrowly missed a spot in this mega event after finishing fourth in his heat race. Michael would later finish 12th in the B-Main and unfortunately, was unable to transfer into the $50,000 to win crown jewel event. August 3, 2013 --- Michael Chilton and the #97 team racked up yet another win on Friday night, August2 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky. After having motor problems early on and missing his qualifying session, Michael came from the tale of his heat race to finish third, earning him a sixth place starting spot for the A-Main event. Chilton quickly charged to the front of the 25-lap main event, taking the point as the field neared halfway and never looking back. Later in the weekend, the #97 team visited 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky for the $5,000 to win Hatfield/McCoy Feuding 50, after Mother Nature washed out the Coal Miner's Classic event at Lucky 7 Speedway. After a late arrival, Chilton once again found himself on the tale of a heat race and would miss the transfer by one position, forcing him to run a B-Main. Michael waged a three way battle for the final transfer spot for much of the B-Main, but came up short just shy of the start finish line when he broke a driveshaft coming off turn four to the checkered flag.
